What is a Bone Densitometry / DEXA scan?
A DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scan measures bone mineral density (BMD) in the spine, hip, and forearm to detect osteoporosis and osteopenia. It is the most accurate, lowest-radiation test for diagnosing bone-loss disorders and is internationally recommended for assessing fracture risk.
